New methods for assessing the risks of developing cardiovascular diseases have been added to the WEBIOMED Clinical Decision Support System.
Initially, WEBIOMED was based on the Russian recommendations "Diagnosis and correction of lipid metabolism disorders for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis" of the VI revision.
The SCORE (Systematic Cоronary Risk Evaluation) was used as a risk assessment score, and two calculation algorithms were implemented on its basis: estimation of ten-year risk of fatal cardiovascular disease (absolute cardiovascular risk) and total relative risk of cardiovascular diseases for people younger than 40 years.
The following methodologies are supported in the updated version of WEBIOMED:
Framingham Coronary Heart Disease Risk Score: Estimates 10-year risk of heart disease based on specific cardiovascular risk factors.
PROCAM (Prospective Cardiovascular Münster): Predicts 10-year cardiovascular risk based on risk factors like history of MI, diabetes, or high cholesterol.
REYNOLDS Risk Score: Estimates 10-year cardiovascular risk in women over age 45 years and men from 50 to 80 years.
CHA₂DS₂-VASc Score: Determines risk of stroke and thromboembolic events in patients with atrial fibrillation.
CART (Cardiac Arrest Risk Triage) Score: Predicts risk of in-hospital cardiac arrest.
WEBIOMED Clinical Decision Support System is a ready-made service that can be integrated into any healthcare information system in order to timely identify high-risk patients and prevent morbidity and mortality.
